Geocaching at dinosaur ridge in Denver on Saturday

Geocaching at dinosaur ridge in Denver on Saturday

Coming this Saturday, the 6th annual partnership with the Colorado State Geocaching group, Geocaching Colorado, and Dinosaur Ridge at their Dinosaur Days celebration.
Geocaching Colorado, also know as GCCO in the community, will be on hand to give people information and a chance to try their hand at Geocaching.
Dinosaur Ridge is located off C-470 just south of I-70, right along the foothills at the edge of Denver. The Alameda Exit gets you there directly.
Dinosaur Ridge has a nature center with lots of resources located at the base of a rock outcropping that contains a number of naturally occurring Dinosaur-related fossils and fossilized imprints, visible right on the surface of the rock.
Parking and admittance is free! There will be lots of free activities. Expect some food for sale, and a pay shuttle available to take you up the ridge - or get some good exercise walking up, exploring the fossils and Geocaches located in the area.
If you wanted to learn more about Geocaching, or just wondered what it was like to try Geocaching, stop by the GCCO booth and find out about free rental of a GPS unit, pre-loaded with geocaches found in the area.
There will be lots of experienced Geocachers ready to answer your questions and get you started on your first hunt! There will be a challenge from Dinosaur Ridge, and a few chances to win prizes from Goecaching Colorado. We expect the GCCO frog mascot Bounce to make an appearance for the kids as well!
Bring your sunscreen and hats, and make a day of it! The official Geocacing event is from 10-2. Anyone with a Geocaching userid can log a find by signing their userid at the GCCO booth. In fact, you can sign up for a free userid on Geocaching.com to log the event and any other caches you find!
